Karen is a registered and certified Genetic Counsellor, working in private practice since 2018, Karen is also a Senior Genetic Counsellor at Genetic Services of WA with vast experience in reproductive, paediatric, familial cancer, and adult genetic counselling.
Karen's expertise lies particularly in working with couples, often in emotionally difficult situations. She is passionate about ensuring couples and individuals are given the opportunity of informed choice and are supported through decision-making, unexpected outcomes and future planning.
Bachelor of Science; Masters in Counselling; and Certification as a Genetic Counsellor by the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA).
Cassie graduated the Masters of Genetic Counselling in 2020. She is a practicing Genetic Counsellor in both the public and private sector, her special interest is cardiovascular, adult onset conditions and connective tissue disorders.

Kat graduated the Masters of Genetic Counselling in 2023. Kat has a special interest in assisting people understand their cancer risk and discussing the best suited testing options.
Kat has experience in neurological research in Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy, alongside experience in clinical research trials in Motor Neurone Disease and Huntington's disease. Kat is particularly interested in Neurogenetics and psychiatric genetics.
On a part-time basis Kat is a Genomic Policy Support Officer with the Office of Population Health Genomics (OPHG). In this role she contributes to state-wide genomic health strategies and formulates governmental policies to ensure equitable genomic healthcare.

Bonnie has been accepted into the 2024 cohort for her Masters in Genetic Counselling at the University of Technology Sydney and her learning is underway.
Marija is a qualified Social Worker with over 20 years of experience within the Disability Sector with people of all ages. She is well placed to offer support, information, referral and advocacy to individuals or families and help navigate the health and supports services and funding systems (including but not limited to the National Disability Insurance Scheme NDIS, My Age Care, and Services Australia) – which can be difficult at the best of times.
Marija holds a Bachelor of Social Work and is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Dr Jennie Slee specialises in the areas of adolescent and adult onset conditions and reproductive genetics. She has many years of experience working within the public sector.

Dr Cathy Kiraly-Borri has a particular interest in the area of familial cancer including childhood cancer, and high risk management. Dr Kiraly-Borri has extensive experience in all areas of genetic consultation.
Dr Ben Kamien specialises in the area of paediatric, adult and obstetric genetics and provides the clinical supervision for Private Genetics WA.
